Ubisoft has announced the first cross-game test for its upcoming free-to-play FPS, XDefiant. This test will take place from February 16 to 20 and allow players on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC to enjoy four game modes and thirteen maps. The most interesting of these new additions is Pueblito, a battleground located in the fictional Caribbean nation of Yara, which is the subject of Far Cry 6.

XDefiant promises an intense game with personalized gear and specialized factions, where teams will fight for dominance. The game was originally introduced as Tom Clancy's XDefiant in July 2021, but Ubisoft dropped that brand a few months later and added other IPs to expand its player base. Ubisoft San Francisco is developing the game with Mark Rubin at the helm - he previously worked on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare at Infinity Ward. Upon release, the game will be available on all major platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and Amazon Luna. Amazon Luna.

XDefiant will be an immersive game that combines Ubisoft's best franchises and allows players to experience various gameplay modes with friends across multiple platforms. The studio hasn't yet announced a release date for the full game, but judging by the new playtest, we can expect it soon. With its high-octane action and unique factions, XDefiant looks set to become one of the most popular free-to-play games in 2021.

Players looking forward to trying out cross-play in XDefiant now have their chance! During the week-long playtest, gamers will be able to try out four exciting game modes and thirteen maps, including Pueblito, located in Yara from Far Cry 6. It's not yet clear exactly when XDefiant will launch, but if all goes well during this test period, gamers should expect it later this year on PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and Series S/X, as well as Amazon Luna.
