The popular battle royale game Fortnite has released a new content update today. After two weeks of the Christmas event Winterfest, the December 27th, 2022 server-side release is here with more free presents to unlock. This includes skins, pickaxes, gliders, and emotes. One of the main new features in this patch is the return of the Heavy Shotgun – an iconic weapon that was vaulted earlier this year. Players can now use it to take out their opponents in heated engagements! Let’s take a closer look at what else Epic Games have included in their latest update.

One of the most notable additions to this patch is that players can now make use of Heavy Shotguns once again after they were removed from Fortnite earlier in 2020 due to balance issues. The Heavy Shotgun deals great damage up close and will be sure to shake up how players approach close-quarters combat on the map! As well as this, there are also some minor bug fixes that were added, such as minimap improvements and graphical tweaks involving weapons like revolvers and rocket launchers.

For those looking for something fresh in terms of cosmetics, Epic Games have added several limited-time wintery items into Fortnite's Item Shop for purchase during Winterfest, including festive wraps for weapons such as assault rifles, SMGs, and shotguns alongside Christmas-themed character outfits too! In addition, there are three all-new gliders available, including one featuring Santa Claus himself! More rewards await those who complete all Winterfest challenges before its conclusion on January 3rd, 2023, so make sure you don't miss out on any goodies whilst completing these objectives.

December 27th, 2022, Update brings plenty for both veteran gamers and newcomers alike, with returning favorites such as heavy shotguns making a comeback alongside cosmetic items perfect for getting into season spirit - plus extra rewards if you finish all your challenges before January 3rd next year! All things considered, it looks like a great update from Epic Games, adding even more variety to everyone's favorite battle royale title just before we enter 2023 - happy holidays, everyone!
