This month at our meeting we talked of the value of communication.
The results of assessing the process was the following:
Talk directly with the person or persons involved; otherwise it
becomes a third party communication,
Be clear on what you want to say,
Be willing to listen.
We discovered that venting in a non-threatening way is a positive
thing when it is backed up by following through. By that we mean to
take the necessary steps to correct what can be corrected.
In our session we allowed ourselves to be as fully honest and authentic
as possible and we found that there was some unhappiness that needed
to be shared. As a result of this, we did what we could to problem solve,
and we feel very successful. In our follow-through session we all learned
that we had the same intentions and values and we learned to better
communicate them with each other.
