Tecumseh's Curse ?
~ 20 year meeting of Jupiter and Saturn

Tecumseh's Curse. It kind of sounds like a terminal disease, doesn't it? In a perverse sense, it could be. It has to do with the 20-year alignment of expansive Jupiter and cautious Saturn at 9:04 AM PDT May 28th.

Every sitting president since Harrison died in office under this supposed curse. Maybe there is something to it. Maybe not. Either way, it is one of those cosmic coincidences that make an eye-catching title to an article.

Tecumseh was the leader of an Indian nation while William Harrison was still an Indian Fighter on the frontier. After Harrison became President, he reneged on some agreements with Tecumseh's confederation of tribes. Harrison died of pneumonia in office. Since then, every sitting President at the time of the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn) has not survived his term of office. Hence, the curse.

Perhaps President Clinton should have consulted an astrologer before running for his second term (in more than one way, I might add)! Of course, he did make special trips out to the Pine Ridge reservation (making amends, just in case?). The list of earth sign Jupiter-Saturn fated presidents includes Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William, McKinley, Warren Harding, Franklin Roosevelt, and John Kennedy. President Reagan survived an attempted assassination, but the conjunction was in the air sign of Aquarius.

It is probably ridiculous to spend much time analyzing whether Clinton will survive his office. It is better to consider how you might benefit by using the energy of this alignment to your Highest Good. Jupiter is the energy of expansion, optimism, generosity, and adventure. Saturn represents patience, long-term effort, conservatism, and determination.

The May 28th alignment occurs in the practical and stable earth sign of Taurus. The sign of the bull wants you to manifest your values in a material way. If you have a great idea, now is the time to put constructive effort into it. Jupiter urges you to expand. Saturn tells you to do it in a slow-but-sure way.

If you want to start a business, do so. But it may not be time to quit your day job. The key words to this cycle are conservative expansion, practical optimism, and patient enthusiasm. Whatever you do, make certain you are in it for the long haul. Saturn will reward you, but don't look for overnight gratification.

If you know your natal astrology chart, look to the house of your chart containing 23 degrees of Taurus. The meaning of the house will tell you what area of your life is being impacted by this conjunction. For example, Taurus in the tenth house represents conservative expansion in career.

Now is the time to look at your highest values and deepest desires. How can you bring them to the world in a tangible way? The lesson is to release your fear of actually getting what you really want. The opportunity is that your efforts in projecting your soul desires into the world will get help in manifesting reward. It is time to shift to a new level of activity and expression in your life. Now that doesn't sound like much of a curse, does it?
